Our Story

Rising from the New Jersey and New York hardcore, punk, and metal scenes, Robots and Monsters will release RUIN an 11-song album in the fall of 2026. Their first release since 2019, RUIN finds the quartet playing in a slightly more progressive sandbox while still doing what they do best: creating the best soundtrack to existential dread. 

Formed in 2013 by brothers Derek and Dylan Gadino (guitars and vocals, respectively) and Bill Bergmann (bass), the band soon added drummer Kevin Powers, who spent time in Bloodhound Gang and Mucky Pup.

Like most of R&M’s output the new album is heavy, riff-centric, and groove laden. It’s also the most lyrically raw. “In the past, I’ve spent so much time hiding messages behind metaphors in my lyrics,” says Dylan, “ There’s still some of that on RUIN , but I’ve also really tried to just be more obvious about what I’m screaming about.”

The band’s other releases include EP Bloodied and Bowed (2019), Nothing to Fear, Nothing to Fight (2016), and Down to Ash (2014).
